Frequently asked questions

How do I create an account or sign in? ×

Open the app and tap Sign up. You can register with your name, date of birth, city and state, and either an email address or a mobile phone number, or choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple. You must be at least 16; the optional facial / event-photo-matching feature and the interest questionnaire and the group chats and member visibility it powers are 18 and older. If you’re 16 or 17, a parent or guardian needs to consent.

I can’t log in or I forgot my password. +

If you signed up with Google or Apple, use that same button to sign back in, there’s no separate password to reset. If you registered with an email and password, tap Forgot password on the sign-in screen for a reset link. Still stuck? Email support@aftersunday.church and we’ll help you back in.

Why aren’t my notifications working? +

Make sure notifications are enabled for NAM in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Notifications → NAM; Android: Settings → Apps → NAM → Notifications) and that you’ve allowed them inside the app. Notifications are optional, so they only arrive if you’ve opted in. If they still don’t come through, check your internet connection and that battery-saver isn’t restricting background activity.

How do permissions (camera, photos, microphone, location) work? +

Every permission is optional and used only for the feature you ask for: camera and photos for profile pictures and post attachments, microphone for voice notes and spoken prayers, and location to show nearby parishes, groups, and events. We only access photos you choose to share and never scan your whole library. You can grant or revoke any permission anytime in your device settings; if you decline location, those nearby suggestions are simply unavailable.

What is the AI assistant, and is it accurate? +

The in-app AI assistant (“Jana,” the AI Community Manager) answers questions and helps around the community. It is powered by third-party AI providers acting as our service providers under contract; they process your messages only to generate responses and don’t use them for their own purposes or to train their models on your data. Replies are automated and can be incomplete or out of date, so they’re for general information and community support only, not spiritual direction or professional advice. Always confirm important matters with your clergy or a qualified professional, and use the flag icon to report any reply. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The livestream or an event isn’t loading. +

First, check your internet connection and make sure you’re on the latest app version. Then fully close and reopen the app. If the issue continues, email us with the event name, your device type, and your app version so we can help investigate.

Do you show ads or track me across other apps? +

No. NAM has no ads, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We don’t include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we never sell your data. We only collect what’s needed to run the community and keep it safe.

Community safety & reporting

NAM is a community space, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. We review reports and, where warranted, remove the content and the offending user within 24 hours.
